Therese Dodds | BA SPTH (HONS); CPSP - Director & Speech Pathologist
Therese Dodds is the Director of Eastern Suburbs Speech Pathology. She graduated with honours from The University of Newcastle in 2005 and has since gained more than 20 years of experience in providing high level Speech Pathology care to adults presenting with communication and swallowing disorders through both the public and private sectors. She is considered an advanced practitioner in the areas of Voice, Laryngeal Dysfunction, Head and Neck Oncology and Neurology. During her earlier tenure at St Vincent's Hospital Sydney, she led the establishment of the speech pathology service at The Kinghorn Cancer Centre. Since 2014, Therese has directed her private practice, Eastern Suburbs Speech Pathology, providing key services including head and neck radiation oncology care through various GenesisCare sites, private consulting, home visits, telehealth, residential care and NDIS services, a private VFSS and FEES service, and a previous FIFO to the Riverina region. She maintains a robust telehealth service, providing care for patients across Australia. In addition to her private practice, Therese was a consultant speech pathologist at The Voice Centre Australia from 2019 to 2026 and was the Director of Speech Pathology, St Vincent's Private Hospital Sydney from 2019 to 2025. With contributions to papers and guidelines, and presentations at National and International Conferences, she has long contributed to the speech pathology profession. Therese takes pride in leading her team in providing outstanding speech pathology services. She maintains accreditation at St Vincent's Clinic, Sydney. Her practice has been expanding and relocating to Newcastle in 2026.
